What age is the tow rope suitable for?
The Shotgun tow rope has been designed with kids in mind, but it’s suitable for adults too – as it’s rated to 500lb / 225kg. For kids, Shotgun have found that the tow rope works best once they’re confidently riding a pedal bike themselves, usually this is once they are riding a 16" or 20" wheel bike.

Is the tow rope safe for use on Ebikes?
Shotgun are aware of many customers using their tow ropes with Ebikes and they haven’t heard of any issue to date. To minimise load on the Ebike motor they recommend the person being towed is also pedalling.

Is the tow rope safe for use on dropper posts?
The majority of customers use their tow rope on dropper posts and Shotgun aren’t aware of any issues. To minimise wear and tear on your seat post you should remain seated when towing.

About Shotgun
Based in the North Island of New Zealand, Shotgun are a small team of mountain bike parents with a global vision – to raise the next generation of mountain bikers. In 2016, co-founder Dan Necklen wanted to be able to take his youngest son riding with the rest of the family on longer trails. Knowing a rear mounted seat wouldn’t work on his full suspension bike and the other front mounted options not suitable for his stem and risked scratching his pride and joy co-founder, product designer and MTB Dad Tom Hayward stepped in to help design a child bike seat for parents who have high end full-suspension bikes.
